Air Silencer
I already took it off...But out of curiosity. What is it for? I dont noticed any noise now that its off...what is it silencing?

i think it's supposed to silece the noise of air rushing in when you open the throttle (like you hear sometimes with aftermarket air intakes). i also didn't notice any new sound when i removed mine. but if i get under the hood and rev it manually i can hear it.

It won't hurt anything, maybe a little bit in gas mileage. There was an article on a mustang website that said they gained 4rwhp with it removed according to the dyno.
