No, if you are worried about your warranty, porting or polishing anything will void it.

well if anything happened then I was going to tell the dealer that I bought it like that and I did nothing to it. You think they would know better?

A place in Austin Tx called Prewitt Racing does the upgrades for me. Thats who quoted the 2400.00 for the porting and bigger valves. $2400.00 didnt include the polishing.

you know, for the money your willing to spend you should just buy a used cobra or mach 1 motor. in stock form the DOHC heads flow better than any port and polish job you could do to your SOHC jobber. i don't know what kind of power you want to make but the stock cobra block can handle quite a bit. I've seen cobra motors with 10k miles sell for around 3.5k (pre 03 o' course). Its a lot cheaper and more effective than what your planning. Supercharge one of those bad boys and you'll have your hands full....

remember you could sell your motor for about 1.5-2k bringing the total cost down quite a bit.

well I pay that for the motor, then have it installen with all the upgrades I have now and Im still looking at like 10,000. All in all I think I will do alright wih the SOHC. We will see what happens.
