California is STRICT when it comes to emissions. But you have your cats still so you should be fine. I wouldn't worry about it. Our cops out here do give tickets to cars that are too loud though. But again, I think you'll be coo with your X-pipe and your MagnaPacks.
thanks man!
But im more worried about passing emissions and inspections more than getting pulled over or busted for sound.

no i dont have the stock CATS...
don't get caught, it is against federal law to remove a cat on a car under 50;000 miles
i have cats on my car just the 'high flow' ones from magnaflow.. not the stock ones.
and yeah im only at 43K on my 02 GT so it will be a while till i hit 50K

I think it is actually 8 years 80,000 miles that the cats must be warrantied by ford, I'm 100% sure about 8 years, not about the mileage. for that time period, you cannot mess with them (legally). it's like a $10K fine or some crap like that. but if a cop catches you, you got extremely unlucky, cause most cops won't know what a stock stang of your year looks like from underneath anyway. if they actually check (which is already rare as hell anyway) and they see cat conv., you are prolly fine. if you search for the CARB website, it has all the info you need.
