My vote is to forge the bottom end, stage 3 blower heads/cams, upgradeed fuel system, powerglide tranny w/ transbrake, 315s out back, full suspension including rollcage, 3.55 rearend gears, twin 67mm turbos around 22psi, rear seat delete, four point race harness seats, removal of ac/ and stereo for weight reduction.

This way you should be able to pull on him easily regardless of whether or not hes a good driver.

seriously though tb/plenum, CAI, short shifter, full exhaust, 4.10 gears, tuner, pullies, light suspension work,and cams should let you walk a STOCK mach. They have 45 extra flywheel horses which should be easily made up with those mods. Of course by the time you finish the upgrades, you probably could have bought the mach.

mach1s are weigh more at 3465lbs vs. 3253 for a GT, not to mention the 2v allready has 302 ft/lbs so its only down 18 ft/lbs. torque.

dude all you need is like 50 more hp. you decide how you get it. if you get gears you can knock some off of 50.

the fastest n/a way imo would be cams, full exhaust, gear, and a tune. but that also costs around 3 grand after install. gotta pay to play


but then again a 100 shot of nitrous would be so easy to install and use and you'll beat all the mach 1's and s197's you want
