Anyone with a Mach 1 or shaker hood........
Just got my mach 1 a couple days ago so i am starting to find little things that i can do to it. Anyway, i noticed that the black part on the hood where the air is forced to come in is all faded and looks bad. I was just going to take it off and paint it. How do you take it off? I havnt tried yet, but i figured i would ask how before i tried taking it off. Has anyone painted theirs? Did it hold up very good? I was just going to use some high temp flat black. Im sure you already know what im talking about but here is a pic of my car with the part circled. (obviously)

its actually really easy.
On the side of the shaker there are bolts holding it to a bracket. You just take it loose from the bracket. The bolts are in from side to side instead of up and down...
and while you have it off, look at the little things it sits on...they are little black plastic bolts that have a ball on the top of them, that ball is what goes into the bottom of the shaker. Unscrew them and put like 3-5 washers under them (depending on how thick your washers are) and then tighten them back down. This will raise your shaker, giving you better airflow.
I will link you over to the website with instructions...

Does anyone know where you can purchase a new bracket for the shaker and those black plastic bolts with the ball on the end?
My boyfriend just raised his shaker yesterday, and tightened the bolts too tight and one broke. He's a memeber of this forum, and he would be posting, but he is out of town without a computer.
Thanx!
