Mach 1 v. Cobra

I have a 2003 Mach 1 and was told by Hypertech that there is no available tuner through them for that car. Can you just use the model that is for the Cobra and GT. They are the same. Also what is the difference between a Cobra and a Mach 1. Is it just the supercharger? They are both 4.6 DOHC.
If Hypertech is out, I know that superchips makes one that will work with a Mach 1.
Lastly what is the real power gain and is it worth what you pay for the tuner?
2003 Mustang Mach 1
Azure Blue
BBK CAI
Transgo HD-2 Shift Kit
Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back
4.10 Gears
Tires 275/40/ZR17 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS

The Mach 1 has the exact same engine that was used in the 2001 cobras.
The Mach 1 does not have a supercharger.
The Mach 1 does not have independent rear suspension.
The Mach 1 does not come in a convertible.
And as for tuners...sounds like a lot of hocus pocus and outlandish claims about horse-power gains when you're just re-mapping (er, leaning out) the fuel curve. For a stock vehicle, Ford probably uses the tune they do for a reason. For a more modified vehicle, then maybe it's worth it. But how are you going to get an accurate tune without a dyno?
I don't know. Maybe it does an accurate computation of the fuel injector to hubcap ratio, thereby giving your wallet a 400 to 0 time of a few mouse clicks.
I hear SCT is good, though.

Tuning will be different on all of these cars, and the computer codes will also not match up (they must for a handheld). You have to tell them your computer code so they can properly tune your car. This is not to say that any generic tune will properly tune your car.
Here is a link on mustangtuning for a xcal 2 from SCT that will work on your mach1 :

The only problem is, it comes with a generic ****ty tune. You might get some benifit, but it is entirely possible the tune acutally looses power over the stocker. My generic diablo tune was making 8 less WHP on the dyno than my stock computer.
BTW The most important thing you should worry about (that almost everyone doesn't mention) when buying a handheld is what your local shops can custom tune for you. Why buy a handheld if the nearest SCT tuner is 5 hours away? If you ever want to get a custom tune you will have to buy a new chip/tuner. I made the mistake of getting a mail order chip from diablo and my shop could not custom tune it.
