Default minor rear ending...new exhaust

Hey guys,

last Thursday, I was involved in a minor fender bender on my way home from work. A civic hit a G5 pursuit and then the G5 hit me. The hit to my car was the rear left corner and had the pursuit sliding up along the side up to the rear wheel. Car was drivable afterwards, with visible damage including the rear bumper, tail light, left quarter panel, rim, and the left exhaust tip pointing 45 degrees towards the ground.

Now for the question…I was hoping I could get an upgraded catback instead of just installing a stock replacement. But after getting off the phone with the bodyshop, apparently the insurance is going to cover a new muffler only? I was under the impression that the catback was all one piece…so is this possible, or by muffler did they mean the catback? The body shop guy said there was no cutting involved and that it was straight forward bolt in…so I was thinking catback. Anyways, I get something like $300 CAD credit from the “muffler” so I figure I’ll use this towards a SLP loudmouth II.

Just let me know if I should do some checking into this situation to make sure they aren’t screwing me.

Oh, and since my car is a Bullitt, the exhaust isn’t the same as the GT, so I would think this would increase the price of the exhaust...
