Default get blown or dont get blown

I have a 96 GT with 87000 miles on it. I really want to supercharge it, I was looking at vortech or paxton kits. The motor is in great mechanical condition but the miles are high. I have the money, I just want to know if it would be worth it or not, does anyone have experience with supercharging a high mileage engine. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

If I had the money, I would do it. 87000 isn`t bad.
I can`t wait to get mine.

my answer to this would probably be the same as if the question was asked regarding an absurdly beautiful woman.

If you plan on keeping the car for a long time, then I wouldn't worry about the 87k miles. However, if keeping that car isn't in your long term plans, don't bother. You'll never get your money back out of it.

I wouldn't be afraid of boosting the 4.6 with 87k on it. I know a guy who has a 4.6 in his farm truck that has 235,000 hard miles on it and only burns a pint of oil every 5k or so. What that has to do with this thread is beyond me, but I'm full of free opinions.

why must mine burn 1 qt every 1000 miles!! UGH yet it runs smooth as silk

but generally speaking high milage doesn't mean junk. at my work, an explorer 5.0L .. 1998 I think came in with 227,000 on it and ran like new.

idk, If I had the money to supercharge my car and I had a 96 gt with 86k miles on it I would take the money, sell my car, and get a newer gt like a 99+
