4:10 and fuel economy
 

Looking at changing the gears in my 02 GT. I've been told that 4:10's really screw up your fuel economy and 5th gear will run like 3,000 RPM at 70MPH?

yeah thats pretty much true.. any gear is gonna give you worse fuel econ. Most recommend 3:73's.. thats what i run in mine and i love em.. Do you have an auto or manual?

yeah a 100 shot would get you there how you are right now but w/o it you'll need some major engine work.

I would go with the 3:73's then.. When it comes down to gears being the subject, a lot of people on here just go with opinion. Also depends on your future mods.. Are you gonna want to be running about 110-120mph or less at top speed?? IMO 3:73's are best.. Ive heard too much about them to knock them and i have them as well... Love em..

Also an NX kit with a 100 shot would work swell. [sm=drooldude.gif]

May want a 125 shot, since you usually don't get the absolute advertised HP #'s..

hey blck98GT.. you ever thinking about s/c your car? cuz i would run a 100 shot but i dont know if its worth spending the money because by next summer i plan on getting a s/c...
