anything that is "fender mount" should work good that way you are sucking in cooler air and as we all know, thats what makes the power.

all intakes work the same, just get a good K&N filter and some Ebay Intake and your set. no intake will give a N/A cstang more then 4rwhp
I'll agree that "most" all CAI"s work the same as they eliminate the air restrictions of the factory plumbing. However, I think the best CAI's are plastic and not made of steel/aluminum/stainless, etc....

Any intake under the hood made out of a high heat conductive material, (i.e. metal), is going to absorb the ambient heat from the engine a heck of a lot more than a plastic/carbon fiber/fiberglass, etc....

Now what is the point of putting the air filter in the fender-well to suck in outside air when the plumbing up to the TB is heating it back up?

You get more horsepower out of cooler air because it is more dense. I pretty sure a 10 degree increase in air temp is a 1% loss in power. Don't quote me on that as I haven't done the research.

Most all of the aftermarket CAI's I've seen flow better than stock, but I'd stay away from the ones that heat up the incoming air by radiating ambient engine temps. There is a reason the stock intake is made out of plastic and draws air from outside the engine compartment.

I bought an EBAY intake. First of all no directions and fit was terrible. Once it was in a few days later when the engine would twist from the torque the rubber boot to the chrome tube came disconnected and the car wouldn't run of course. I tightened it and double clamped it and a week later same crap. It happened so often I was carrying a screwdriver in the car which was rediculous to me. So it was thrown away and I am back to stock. Get a brand name even if it is 160 bucks or so.
