because ford doesnt know how to make cheap power. So they make cheap engines with no power. It upsets me because my stang is still slow even with all the work i did.

Mustang Chris, I agree with you there. Even Mustangs and Camaro's are in the same class. I just look at it like this. Late model Mustangs(stock) are either 302 or 281 cubes VS. GM's 350. Again, like said eailier. You get for what you pay for.

Plus the "people" wasn't attracted the f-bodys. Americans put a lot on looks, and the f-body didn't have the best look to the average american.
Actually, you can blame low F-body sales on WOMEN. Women make up over 59% of car buying decisions in families and other households across America and women LOVE Mustangs. Studies showed that women did not like the "macho" and "rakishly-aggressive" styling of the F-bodies which many people, including women, thought was too much. Mustang however, was sporty looking and driving, and is "much easier to live with," according to those same studies.

I bought my Z28 'vert to make up for my Mustang's power-shortcomings, but I have to say that the Mustang has the superior fit, finish and build quality, and offers loads of comfort over it's GM rivals. Despite the power disadvantage, I honestly feel the Mustang GT has always been the better car from the factory...

AFFORDABLE = GT thats why u see so many... cheap hotrod (factory)
goddamn..

that is the truth...

imagine if Ford had made every GT from 94-04 with 320+ hp..... I wouldnt be able to afford my '99GT..

so THANK YOU FORD for making an affordable relatively quick car for (21,000 in 1999) that I could by for less than 10,000$ with 48,000miles two years ago..

I am glad Mustangs werent strong in 94-98 too... makes people RELLY underestimate the 96-98 Cobra, and 99+ GT's

All your buying is a body with a sound box under the hood. Stock Mustang GTs are slow.

I agree with the whole, everybody knows that mustangs are not fast, so when mine is it will be that much more fun to spank a SS in my $5000 daily driver...haha

Some are not, but when you put a Mach 1 or Cobra up against a TA/SS/vette/Z28....its a different story, its a hell of alot better race then all those vs a GT.

So, what other $25k car will outrun a stock Mustang GT? They are slow compared to what they can be. But compared to the marketplace, they are definitely not slow.

Well a T/A or Z28 could, very easy.
