Default to be long or not to be?

i have a chance to get bbk longtubes with an off road x and exhaust relitivley cheap, but i have been reading on here that long tubes are not as good for a 2v as they are for a 3v. is there any truth to this or is it all hoopla? i would like one day to supercharge my car in the future if that makes a difference. it shorties are better then that is what i will go with but if the long tubes are just as good then i will do this deal. thanks in advance for all the input.

ps. i have a 1997 gt 5spd with a cold air kit and american thunder exhaust.

LTs are supposed to make good power and BBK is a good header, they are a PITA to install though [:@]

WTF?! Who said that.... Such bad information. Yes the long tubes will make more power on a 3V engine... Duh because its 3V's compared to 2V's.

But Long Tubes are the ONLY type of headers that will make good power on our 2V cars. Shorties are completely worthless S/Ced or not, they are worthless.

You need to put LTs on your car to see any worth while power gains.

my headers are the second most noticable mod (next to my gears), but they are the most helpful...they make everymod you do better. get those headers

i've heard bad things about the bbk xpipe so you might wanna search around and look up stuff, but if you can get a good deal on it go for it
