was the car bogging any near the end? or did you have any traction problems after your 60'? what bottle pressure did you have near the end of the track? and... if you have a bottle heater, your bottle could be to cold...

thats the thing. no traction problem at all really. the slicks may have spun over once at the most. but the left front was in the air so i think it hooked pretty good. bottle pressure leaving the line was like 1075.

cuz u have 4.56 gears. your going into 5th gear at the end which is keeping your mph high but not making your car pull faster. i bet if you get a gear that ends in 4th you will have a better trap.

I would agree. Ending in 5th gear isn't what you want. Best would be nearing red line in 4th.

Actually you are right on with those numbers. I recently came over to a Mustang from a Turbo Talon. My best was an 11.68 at 119mph. If you go to www.dsmtimes.org you will find hundreds of timeslip info. The cars running your ET are between 119mph and 132mph. The DSM trany has it's 5th gear at .85% of the stock gear, 3.54's, not a big drop. I do not know the drop into 5th for the Mustangs as I have a '99 automatic. If it is a big drop then changing the tranny gearing to something closer to a final 1:1 will probably help if the revs are not too high when you trap.
Just curious, what are your revs when you trap now and what is your redline? Mark

You cannot compare those cars with a RWD car, they always trap high for thier ET. I think he needs to work on his 60 foot, for a car that fast I would want to see a 1.5x 60 foot. Beyond that when are you spraying? If you are not hitting the spray right out of the hole thats why you are trapping so high for the ET. ET is all about the launch and trap is an idicator of HP. For example my SS went 11.80 @113.4 mph, the reason I can run such a good for the relitivly little power I have is I had a 1.54 60 foot. There is alot more potential in your car, you just have to find it. It's times like this I really wish I could see a car run in person.

Some of ther DSM's have been switched to RWD. Similar 60fts. and similar times, actually the DSM's are actually slower than the 127 that the Mustang is running. 60ft. gave me good times but power gave the trap speed. I could have a 2.x 60ft. and hit 122 for a trap. I still don't believe he is way off the mark and certainly a better 60ft will help along with driving which looks like he is doing a great job at. I am a newbie so take what I offer "with a grain of salt". kindly, Mark

i am in 4th gear at the traps. im at 7000rpms. still making power. thats wat i dont understand. i think my control arms might have something to do with my 60ft. i did a 1.52 on motor in april. now im doin high 1.6's on motor and low 1.6's on juice. my bushings are shot in the control arms. but my eigth mile right now is 7.42@95 but last month it did 7.200@97.22 but my 60ft's arent that great anymore. i lost a tenth and a half off the launch.
