Anyone have an automatic?

My wife got an 02 and since she can't drive standard she got the auto. I was thinking about putting a few go fast parts on there when she wasn't looking, but don't know if it will be worth it. Its been awhile since I have been in the loop as for as go fast parts go, and these new ones are alot different than my '69.

What would be some good bolt ons to start with? It has to be able to get an inspection sticker too. I lost my hook up for the stickers.

I would usually say do the exhaust because besides a blower or internal parts thats going to be the other best upgrade, but Im sure she will notice that. Something she probably wouldnt notice would be a set of underdrive pullies and a timing adjuster. Unless she's really into cars or knows what it looks like under the hood she probably wont notice these. Also get a good Cold Ari Intake (fenderwell type) I have the Densecharger and you can find this part at WWW.Densecharger.COM

If she ever gives you the go ahead to do what you want rip into the engine, build it forged from the bottom up and throw like q 15 psi S/C on it. If you are really loaded with cash then do a twin turbo kit on it. Let us know what you decide to go with. ;)

Are you diong this as a surprise? Or just behind her back?

If you're doing it behind her back and want something you WILL feel. Go with gears or a shift kit!!!! She would never be able to tell just by looking!!!

I have a 03 auto. I would get 4.10's, Densecharger, Dynomax catback w/catalytic X. You should definately feel a difference in power then. DO NOT put a shift kit on that auto. You'll mess it up very quickly.

Are you sure????........I have heard only the opposite. My buddy has one and it is GREAT!

But he hasn't had it very long.

with an auto i would go with a transgo shift kit(had over 90,000) on my 98 with a shift kit and 2800 stall. if the car gets a lot of milleage, go with 3.90 gears and get a speedo correct kit. with just those mods, the car will be a whole new ride. the drivetrain upgrades will give you a huge advantage over the factory stuff and the shift kit will turn that slushbox aode into a neck snapping tranny

Thanks for the ideas. It is going to be kind of behind her back. I told her I was going to make it louder and she kind of liked that idea.

Im not sure she can even open the hood so im prolly pretty safe for the under the hood stuff. It also will not be used on to many road trips so a new gear might be in the future.

I will be driving it full time in about two years which might give me enough time to stash some money away for a little 9lb procharger.

Thanks all

4.10's, and/or full exhaust. Flowmasters and Magnaflows seem to be popular. As far as keeping this from your wife...good luck. She'll probably notice the pull if you do a gear swap, she'll certainly know somethings different if you start tweeking the exhaust. Oh well just tell her the weather makes a car act different.
