is there any advantage what exactly does it do? may be a dumb question but i dont know

Most of the time, the only two reasons you'd want to retard timing is if you're getting predetonation, or if you're going w/ Forced Induction and need to tune it..


Otherwise, there really isn't much of an advantage... It'll make your car run slower, and your gas mileage will suffer...
