Default 4.6 overheated part 2

well i guess we r all in agreement that i fried my motor so next step. stroker kit or just replace it with a forged set up. but i cant buy a shortblock im gona build the motor myself .do u guys think its really worth it to stroke it to a 5.0 will i get that much more power im undecided but im lookin for a cheep setup any input to some good deals would be great . it has to be forged tho cuz im crankin the boost to the max now

Damn that sux man. I'd go with the replacement with forged internals rather than stroking it I dont think its worth it to stroke it.

Stroking is not worth the $ IMO, just get a low compression set-up rotating assembly.

I emailed vt engines about this a while back. They said they had good results stroking the 4.6s. They had a good deal of increased torque in the mid rpms. They did not give me any numbers though. He also said to see the benefits of the stroker motor you need extensive head work or you will lose hp up top. So yes, according to vt it can be worth while, but expensive since you need the head work to go along with the package...

i really feel like stroken it isnt worth it either . so when i rebuild it u guys think its worth it to buy a new block from ford for 300 brand spankin new
