Ok I need the truth ive heard it needs some special spacers to fit and ive also heard its a complete drop in? For up to 35rwhp( more likely 5-15). So if anyone can give me the total truth Id greatly appreciate it!

Didnt i just answer this post the other day. It is true that the ports are different. But the pi intake will bolt directly to the heads of a non pi motor. You will have to decide what gaskets you will use npi or pi they will both work. You will have to use some rtv silicone to make sure the gakets seal. This is not the greatest way to do something but you need something to help with the port differences. I would say your 5-15 hp estimate is pretty close. This mod in itself is not a huge jump but it lays the ground work for a serious performer. Livernois offered at one time a pi intake that had the elbow mounting flange machined down to account for the spacers underneath to adapt to npi ports but it was like 700 and thats way too much. Also ford performance solutions has a cnc port program that is really sweet that cuts the ports over to pi, but that is a full port job with a price of such. I would say that is the best way to go, ported heads and do the pi intake swap. But it is a direct bolt on. I would recommend intsalling pi cams as well.

First off thank you! well my plan is...I found a bunch of pi intakes on ebay for cheap. I hopefully plan on buying one within a week or two. Then in the winter or next summer getting p&p heads, doin a rebuild, and getting a milder cam. If I make more money then planned maybe some forged pistons. Now with the intake would I absolutely have to use the silicone, because if any gets in the engine I just lost my o2 sensors.

Does anyone on this Forum ever do a search first? This gets asked alot here...MODS MAKE THIS STICKY PLEASE!

You can install the PI intake on the NPI heads without using adapter plates. You will need to use PI head gaskets which cover about 98% of the openings...then you will have to use a small dab of RTV on the water jackets. Its very simple!!!!! The Intake will give you a solid 15rwhp and extend your usable RPM band up past the 4500RPM's it chokes off at now. Add the PI cams and pickup another solid 15rwhp.
Other parts you will need are the PI coolant tube and nipple and the PI alt bracket. You will also have to drill and tap the front crossover for the 2nd temp sensor NPI's have.
Here are some pictures of where to put the RTV...
