My '99 automatic with 4.10's turns around 2850rpm's at 75mph. Double that and you get 5700rpm's and 150MPH if it had the power to push it that far. Auytomatics have about a 30% drop in OD or about 70% of the final gearing. Anyone know what the 5-speeds have for OD? Mark

My car came with 3.27 gears and i remember racing a corvette up to 138-140mph ........now with 3.73's of course the car pulls harder and faster but just a little while ago i had it up to 135mph in 5th gear and it still felt like it had more in it, the rpm range wasnt done yet either........I have a SCT tuner that took the top speed and rev limiter off also if that helps.

Ive only taken my mustang up to a 155. SCARY AS ****ING HELL. My car was shaking like a bitch and everything was so loud. Then I took the vette up to 185 and was smooth as can be, very quite. I love that car.

i think i will go with the 3.90's, and i beleive that if i cant show dominace by 100 then i shouldnt race the car, however there are also alot of cars just as fast or faster so if i have to prolong the race i want to be able to, but thanks everyone for your help
