kenne bell gives pretty much full boost right away.

vortech, prochargers need to "spool" up into boost

I have a kenne bel intercooled 9 psi on my stang and it mad a world of difference. it was well worth what i paid. The difference between vortec and kenne bell is that vortec is what is call a centrifical supercharger and the kenne bell is a twin screw there is also what is called a roots these are made by eaton. The twin screw and the roots both sit on op of the engine where the vortec is in fron.

Better have between 5500 and 6000 dollars ready to spend with the 1.7L intercooled kit if your going to install it yourself.
$4800 for the kit, +400 for tune.

I dont know how far you can push the engine i will let you know when mine blowes up. From what i know the connecting rods are the weak points and are prone to snapping. If the miles are low enough you should be save with over 400 at the rears.

Jelous, I have been thinking about the KB 1.7 too, just hard to drop 5 or 6 G's even know Its worth it. Hard on the wallet you know. Are you going to do the install yourself. crious to know how that is. I have read its eaiser than the vortechs, paxtons etc.

Safely and careful?

Absolutely not. The breaking point is 450RWHP.

Anything over 450rwhp is just a ticking time bomb.

4800$, and the tune is actualy very good. friend of mine has a vortech pushing 9#s also and has spent the same amount if not more than me to get the car running right, tune ect. we both have stock 3:27s and i have never lost a race to him from a roll but from a dig he might get me becuase with the stock tires on i have traction issues...wich i kinda like bc it feels like i driving a big block. ive got some dif. gears going in soon then it should be realy fun! but for an everyday driver i have rode in both centrifical and roots/twin screw powered cars and i would never trade my kenne bell unless i wanted to build a quarter mile car then i would go with centrifical. so it just depends on what your goals are i guess.
