I made mine funtional, sort of. I used a 1" hole-saw bit and cut two holes on the outer most portion of the hood, under the scoop. The scoop comes right off and looks like a V6 hood. I then fabricated a plate that would not allow rain to fall on the intake. The only reason I did it was because of the intense heat during summer driving. I don't see how you could use for air intake though. You would probably need to do the Mach1 hood and scoop to accomplish that. I can't even tell you for sure if it makes a difference with heat, but I guess in my head it does. I am sure someone out there has done the same thing and seen a 20hp gain though! LOL!!!!!

"The professor" is ProfessorWizard on the forums here. hammeron doesn't yet realize that he's one of the many 05/06 owners who seclude themselves to the 05/06 section.

Yes you can make the GT hood scoop functional, however, if you're asking if there is a way, you won't be able to make it work. There's a way to do everything.

You need to cut a hole in your hood then fab up some ductwork that runs over to your factory airbox, just copy the mach 1 setup underhood.

I found this post during a search because I'm thinking of making my hood vents functional.
Right now they are just sitting there.
My aim is to have them help remove ingine heat.

any ideas ?

mine is a 98 GT
