about ready to buy a new engine
ok. well im about ready to buy a new engine for my car... but i was thinking... a forged 5.4 liter is only 500 more than a forged 4.6... how hard is it to make this swap and is it worth it? will the 4.6 heads and everything bolt right up... will my blower bolt right up to it? also... whats a good forged short block...

if your think 5.4 look at boss330racing.
it will fit but the exhaust will need modification due to the wider engine. The heads will work but the intake won't but i think reichard has adapter plates for 5.4 with 4.6 intakes.

I've seen guys on here do the swap and said the heads can migrate, but the hood no longer fit due to the intake. BUT, I recently saw that reichard racing now makes plates to allow the 4.6 intake on the 5.4 block. They claim that it only adds 1 inch and that the stock hood will fit. I think that will allow you to keep your set up on the 5.4, but I don't know for sure.
droptop beat me to the punch.
