when i put it in neutral it still has a little shimmer to it but when i put it in gear it feels like im riding a bull..it rocks back and forth like crazy

My dads 97 cobra blew the throw out bearing, he shifted and bang, he couldnt move. lol. Youre right sh*t does happen..

is it a 5 speed or auto? Could've broke the flywheel,clutch assembly, throwout bearing, or even it's in the tranny. Is it only when in gear or driving? or what about if your just sitting out of gear or park? Does it do it then?

Rocking back and forth eh? Hm, check your transmission mounts. Casper made a good point about your throw-out bearing. But your 'hopping' description is kind of scary and might be your rear end. Look's like it's time to have her looked at by a shop..
