Man i just got through racing an 02 mustang..i pulled up beside him and right from the start i jump out in front of him and when i hit second gear it sounded like i broke something..my car started shaking and it wouldnt go into gear.finally i got it home.it was hopping really bad and it sounded like something was clinking underneath..anyone know some possibilities what might be wrong with it?..any advise would be greatly apriciated..thanks

i,m no expert but it sounds like something is wrong with your tranny. what gear would it not go into or was it all of them? You might have justa strip out one of your gears or your tranny is shot.

yeah it wouldnt go into second gear at first but i let it sit for a min and it finnaly went in gear and started hoping really bad..and it felt like i had no clutch

that be my guess too, or maybe a busted clutch if it wont go in any gear - just a guess

hey hey... me and a friend was coming back from South Padre island in his '94 Cobra and I was driving when a POS Z28 come up on us and took off. I down shifted and cought up with him and we topped out at like 140. Well after we slowed down the whole car was vibrating and when we slowed down you could hear a small clunking coming out of the engine. I kinda had an idea what it was but he took it to the shop and it was exactly what I thought it was. The seal around the harmonic balancer went bad and the crank was shaking the whole car! That was like three years ago. Take a look at your crank pulley and see if its moving any. Thats just one possibility out of many though.

well I cant remember any problems with the gears. There may have been though. I really dont think there was though.
