Default Fender Alignment

Taking a closer look at the car, it looks like there's a bigger gap between my hood and fender on my left than the right. At first I thought my hood was misaligned, but I realized it matched up very well with the bumper. So i believe my fender isn't aligned properly. Has anyone tried readjusting their fender?? Would someone be able to show me which bolts i would need to play around with to adjust the fender?

I've never done it personally, but on spike tv's powerblock once, I saw them using some kind of special shims made for doing just that.

haha, aww crap, I don't have any of these special "shims" to align my fender. I was just thinking of loosening some bolts, and pushing my fender in towards the hood a bit and tightening them back. Are the 3 bolts right under the hood be the ones to mess with?

If I'm not mistaken, Ford Tack-welded the fenders in place, so loosening bolts may not do the trick..

If I remember correctly..

I got in an accident, and my passenger side i actually higher than the Driver's side.. Nothing I can do to fix it, short of getting into another accident to finish her off...

nooooooo, that would suck. I thought they only welded the back fenders.

I'm pretty sure the front ones are just bolt-ons. At least according to my haynes manual they are. It looks like there are 6 or 7 total bolts. The manual says to access them all you have to remove the headlight/parking lamp assemblies, the headlight housing panel, the inner fenderwell splash shield and the front flair molding from the fender, and the front bumper cover. Then you can reach all the bolts.

Interesting...

I know for a fact that before the accident, my car had tack-welds on both sides... I think my car has been in more than 1 accident.. That would explain the poor fitment of a few small items...

Mother f.......

So, i just took my lunch break and home, and decided to fool around with the top 3 bolts under the hood on the fender. I loosened 3 of them, but i simply could not budge the fender. I managed to budge maybe a few MM, but still not enough. Any suggestions.. besides removing the whole front end off lol...

I don't know.. Personally, w/ appearance modifications, whether improvement, fitment, or just plain fixing, I'd never cut corners..

You could destroy something if you didn't do it right..
