X-Pipe or H-Pipe

I know performance wise the two pipes are practically the same, and everyone keeps saying the x-pipe sounds raspy and the h-pipe sounds better. Can you really hear the difference between the two after you put for instance a bassani cat back on?

X-pipe will be raspy almost like a popping. H-Pipe if you want that true american muscle sound,.

RE: X-Pipe or H-Pipe

From what I hear The X Pipe creates more power and torque then the H pipe because they merge your exhaust pulses at the X. An H pipe looses it's ability above 3000 rpms and the H becomes non functional. As far as sound I here different things. I have heard mostly that with a X pipe you loose that deep tone. I think it depends on all the mods you have done, to what your car will sound like as far as headers, and cat back, because they make a huge difference.

I like the X-pipe sound personally. If i remember right, bassani is a deeper sounding catback to begin with so the x-pipe will liven it up when you get on it in my opinion. X-pipes give you more of the racecar sound and h-pipes give you more of the deep-bass(base?) sound.

i have a bassani x-pipe on my stang and it doesnt sound raspy it is nice and low. More important is the headers. the x pipe also makes more power.

i have a magnaflow x pipe, no catback yet.. it sounds CLEAN. it rasps yeah, but im sure it will tone down with headers and the catback install.. im tellin you x sounds diff. than h.

h = deeper.. growlish..
x = loud, aggressive, little rasp @ WOT..
