Mustang acting odd - any advice?

RE: Mustang acting odd - any advice?
It sure is a ripoff, but my hands are tied - working on a car in the driveway is forbidden in my neighborhood (Honda minivans everywhere, the neighbors all hate the Mustang because it's "noisy"). The thing that concerns me is the Ford replacement intake manifold. I don't want another crappy plastic one, but the dealer tells me the "official" replacement part is metal in the front only. Is there an issue with the Ford replacement IMs cracking a second time?
I sure don't want to go through this again in 2 or 3 years..........
