Default WASHING MY MOTOR?

hey im going to detail my motor and degrease it. I did this before but forgot what i did to avoid water damages. i think i just covered my alternator. What should i do to detail my motor? thanks

well you can use water but just try not to use high pressure. try not to get it on your filter or in your intake. cover up all the electrical stuff that you want. the battery will be fine. just try not to blast it. thats why people get the degreasers soo it comes off real easy with not that much work.

yeah i got some gunk engine brite but thanks for helping me out i dont want to be like my neighbor and buy a new alternator. should i cover the CAI or just try not to spray it

just cover the filter if its in the engine bay. or it wont run right until it dries out.

its in the fenderwell so it should be ok. But hey WWMOST you have been a big help on here. i noticed you answering a couple of my questions on here. thanks a lot it is nice to have a forum like this with cool people willing to help you out

if you can afford it get a good steam cleaner...you dont get as much of a mess and it does the job really well

no not a carpet steamer lol..they make steam cleaners that are liek handheld. people use themto clean thier counters, sinks, cars, anything really..try looking at your local walmart or homedepot maybe

lol ok what is the steamer called then...lol...im glad i asked i would have been out there cleanin my motor with a carpet steamer, my neighbors would have been like man i know he cleans his car everyday but he is steam cleaning his motor with a carpet cleaner.
