i have a tunable induction and i love it... but i would go with plastic because they absorb less heat ( and dont rob you of the few ponies u get with a cai)

plastic meaning k&n, jlt, or tunable induction

They don't make that much of a difference, if u want performance, get a tuner, Diablo, Hypertech. If u need to get a CAI. get something made of plastic. If its made of metal, kind of holds the heat wouldn't you think? I personally have a Roush.

I was just lookin at some CAI kits... for those of you with the JLT or something similar that goes in the fenderwall... was install any more difficult with those over a normal CAI where the filter stays in the engine bay?

if the filter stays in the engine bay with the nice warm motor, it kind of defeats the purpose of COLD air intake right? I have a Roush and the filter goes where the air silencer used to be and I put duct tape around the opening so the motor would only be charged with COLD air and not air from the engine bay. Man, some advice...... figure out what these parts do for your car and how they work. Don't just slap them on because you saw a guy with a particlar part at a cruise night or something. Some more advice, some of these parts seriously decrease the life span of your motor. ie. NOS

from what I have been told and figure to be the truth, the intake gain you will notice is when you do a CAI, TB, and plenum all at once because it completely opens up the intake flow

To anyone looking at the BBK piece, don't rely on it for track duty... My stang had been idling 2-3 minutes, going at < 15 mph for 5, then was WOT for ~10 seconds (see video [8D]), cruised at 40 for about a minute... then idle for about another 5 minutes... and the CAI was almost hot enough to the touch to burn you... it soaks up a huge amount of heat... at least I'm not keeping it forever.
