Default New tires

I'm going to order new tires for my 02 GT within minutes...I am just ordering 2 as the rear tires were replaced just before I bought the car a month ago. Right now the tires are 245/45 17 all the way around...should I order these new two a different size? Would it be a noticeable difference if I got larger tires to put in the back?

Obviously if you buy two larger ones for the rear, you can't really rotate them. Yes you will get better traction with wider tires... however also you'll hear more road noise.

I have my 245 width factory tires (on the good ol' bullitts) and last time I went for a drive I was amazed at how much more quiet they are compared to the 295 meats for the back on the saleen wheels. Quieter, ride better, easier to steer, easier to accelerate... lots of advantages, however, I can burn them right off in second gear without any issue... something I can't even do in first with the 295 width tires.

I've about decided on the 275's. I'll order them tonight.

I'm sure it would look nice...but I now have two (nearly) brand new 245's on...and the money that I spent on the extra two 275's could go toward many other things

Quick question, hopefully someone is online now to answer quickly. I have a difficult time understanding how different width tires fit on the same rim. How wide of a tire could I go on stock GT Bullits, without rubbing that is. Since everyone seems to be running them, I would guess 275, right?

The 315/35/17 fit great on a 10-1/2 rim
