I have looked around quite a bit at shortblocks on the net, and what I have found is that they are all about the same price. Because of this, I figure even if you can save a few hundred bucks, you should just go with the well known brand.;

4.6L shortblocks are notoriously easy to screw up and not put together correctly. This is why a shortblock is so much more expensive than a rotating assembly. Go with a large/popular brand that has assembled alot of them before yours (VT, DSS, etc) if for nothing else peace of mind.

MMR blocks are also good, one of our vendors carries them. Do not skimp on the shortblock, buy one that is rated for a little more than what you plan on doing with it.

MMR is a very good modular builder. The 900 is a good choice. If you can get a deal through a vendor thats even better.
