Default Tire Size Help

I currently have 245/45/17 but was thinking about going to a wider tire. the size i am thinking is a 275/40/17, do you know how much of a difference the profile is from a 45 to a 40. and does anyone have a pic of the rear end with these size tires. i would like to see how they look. thanks

hey TX02GT im not worried about the speedometer i will have a tuner with my gears to change the tire size for the speedometer. i am worried about the profile i have 45 pro's now and they are perfect i am just wondering if the amount of profile i am going to lose my going to a 40 is going to be noticeable. also i wanted to see how wide th 275's are if anyone has a pic

It will tell you the profile and width difference. The only difference is the width is a hair bit wider on the 275. Other than that everything else is the same.

so going from a 245 to a 275 is only a hair difference? that doesnt sound right for some reason. thats like 3 sizes bigger. i wish someone could show me some rear end pics of their car with the 275's. my tires are not wide at all. i think they might even be 225. im not sure id have to go look

better link

The 275 will be 1.2" wider than the 245. As I said, just a little wider.

The tire difference is fairly significant. We measured it with a set of calipers when I got my 275s on the back, and with both tires you are taking about 3 inches more of rubber touching the ground.

Being that its only a 245 to start with, adding 30mm is pretty signficant.

1.2 per tire is not what I would consider significant. The rim size for a 275 is min 9 and max 11.
