Ford racing heads and intake for 96 GT?
i just bought my 96' GT a few months ago and didn't know which way to go, there is a ford racing perf. heads and intake that will bolt right on my GT w/out mods (unlike the PI head/intake swap) but the heads/intake that would be a direct bolt on is drastically more expensive than the PI head/intake I could put on instead. so i wanted to know which would be the better way to go, PI head/intake swap, or just ford racing heads/intake that bolt right on??
-thanks

motor swap. pi motor for a grand or so, with low miles, and if you cant do the swap yourself, 1500 for labor. pi head swaps are just as costly as a motor swap, but they raise your compression and you still have your old worn bottom end. id seriously consider a pi motor swap, especially if you plan on doing fi.

The SVO/FRPP heads intake are much better then the PI but they are more expensive. Those SVO heads can be ported to flow 280cfm...and the valve placement is far superior to npi/pi heads. If you can afford them then definately get them. Don't buy them from Ford Racing. The 2 cheapest placed i have seen them is Downs Ford and John Bleakley Ford.

i have a 96 gt and was considering the pi swap.. WEll my car only has 40,000 miles on it so i wanted to just do the pi heads and intake and the vt stage 1 cam.. But ive read that even with it swapped its still not as fast as the 99-04?? why is that?
so i may be looking to swap just the whole motor instead.. Its not something i want to do, im just tossing things around right now

im pretty sure with the PI swap it would be as fast as a 99-04 stock GT, im not fully sure though. i was also considering doing a motor swap (gettinga 99-04 motor) but figured why waste the time and money doing mods to make it fit everything?
