Default 03/04 Cobra

I have been looking at them lately, for about 30 grand you can get one with like 2,000 miles on it. Once the GT500 comes out, do you think this price will drop? If so how much do you think I would have to pay for one with 2,000 miles on it?

ehhhh i dont think that they will drop alot. they are too good of a car. as for a price with 2000 miles on it, i have searched autotrader many o times for cobras and i would say 30,000+ from a dealer. 28,000 - 30,000 from a private party.

Tough to say but once Ford starts making production cobras.. which should be based somewhat on the GT500... then the 03 04 cobras will drastically drop in price
HUH? the GT500 is the Cobra!

Seems like the drop in price will be barely any, if at all. There won't be a lot of GT500's to be had... all of those buyers interested in the GT500 that find out that they are going to have to wait months and months to get one will probably start looking at the 03 cobra..

not true, the more the GT500 comes out, the more people with $$ will be selling their current 03-04 cobra to get one, to think they wont wait is non sense. for example, when i bought my 03 GT i got it for almost 7K off right off the bat, why? because the dealership i went to was a "performance" dealership for the area, meaning they had an *** ton of sports cars. they went out and bought 40 v8 mustangs. all 2004 model. well my car was one of 2 03 GT's still sitting on the lot. the guy i bought my car off of is a friend of mine, basically he said they werent expecting the 05 to be such a big deal. their waiting list was massive, and no one wanted to get the 04 mustangs because they wanted the 05.

so people WILL wait for it. when it comes to something as dramatically different as the 07 from the 04... people will want the 07.

im waiting till next summer, im hoping by then the cobra will be down in price low enough to get one. if not then i may just buy a old fox and get a crate engine for it.

the value of those cars are going to hold for a long time. they are only made for 2 years, and are an icon of the mustang. im sure they will go down in the same class as the BOSS, MACH, and shelby's of the past...

plus they are one of the best platforms ever, i read an artical about them debating if the 03-04 cobra would take the place of the FOX. but im not sure considering the FOX is much easier to find. infact maybe ill make a thread bout this
