Trac control definitly off. As for RPM 7k I would imagine, its not a nad idea to shift a tad bit early at 6800 because MOST factory tachs are off, especially in the higher RPM's.

If he wants to blow his engine!!! hes in a gt we stop at 5700, i would start power shifting at about 5k, so that way your right at redline by the time you hit 2nd. oh and let out the clutch dont "pop" it, your just going to spin the tires. get it up to about 3500rpm and "let" the clutch out really fast

powershifting is a bad idea with a T-45 transmission. You can easily break the tranny by doing that. Learn how to launch without spinning the tires. There's a sweet spot on the RPM's where you can just drop the clutch without spinning the tires. I found mine to be 1200 RPM's, but everyone's car is different and it also depends on your tires + how sticky the track is and all these other factors. When you shift, don't completely let off the throttle between shifting gears. Just let your foot off the pedal about half-way and then get back on it quickly once the gear is engaged.

If you rev that high you will only have one fun night at the track and will have crapy times because the 2V stops making power around 5800. Just feather the clutch, speed shift (with the T45) and shift between 5500 and 5800. Watch your tac you should not fall below 4100 rpms in between shifts. Make sure your AC is off long before you stage like when you arive at the track dont use it anymore. And the most important tip stay away from the walls.

I was assuming that the redline for all 4.6's was 7k. If it isnt you should get some cams so you can spin er up that high.

Mach 1's/Cobra's with the 4.6 DOHC can rev that high but not the GT 4.6 SOHC.

I'm sure the Rev limiter will not let him go that high. My first time going down the track I was so dam nervous, everyone watching you, you don't want to look like a idiot etc. etc. Just watch how people stage, youll get the hang of it. Your heart will be racing a whole lot faster than your car will be going but by the time you get your time slip you will be ready to go again. and Trac contorl off definatly

I agree with everyone else. Just watch other people first. Its really easy. If you want park your car and go sit in the stands and watch for a few times or so. Its a lot of fun once you get the hang out it. Before you know it, you'll pull right up and stage like it comes naturally.
