Default Car running badly...any advice??

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, I have a feeling there is a sensor of some kind causing this but don't know for sure...here's whats happening.

In the morning, afternoon or evening whenever the car has had time to cool off it won't run right when I start it up and won't until it's up to normal operating temps. It should idle around 1K rpms but struggles to maintain 500...it has no power or throttle response and can barely get out of it's own way. Basically it feels like it's running on 1 of 8 cylinders..
After the car warms up...5 mins or so.. it clears out and the car runs great.....any ideas?

Sounds almost like my car, I first replaced the IAC or something like that and I thought that fixed it but it didnt. I pulled the fuel rails off and turned on the fuel pump real quick, fuel only came out of the back two holes on the passanger side rail, no fuel was coming out of the front two so I was like only running on 6 cylinders. I ordered new fuel rails and should get them in a few days.

Might be a bad IAC. Hard to tell until you put a scanner on it.

run a scan tool on it, im guessing the iac as well, but it could be a number of other things as well.

The IAC is only about 3-4 months old...I thought it could be the same so I cleaned it up but there was no change...??...

I can't remember if this is the case, but have you tried checking your Coolant Temp Sensor?? I believe if it goes bad, sometimes it throws itself in a "closed loop," meaning that it always says the car is cold, therefore always dumping extra fuel in. It may not trigger a CEL because it's constantly sending a signal, whereas I believe the ECU is looking for an erratic, fuzzy signal.

Has your fuel mileage gone down at all?? Can you smell the car running rich??

I haven't checked the Coolant temp sensor JT...And honestly it's hard to tell if that what had an affect on my mileage or the crappy ethanol gas we had to switch to here in Dallas a few months ago but it's definitely down.
I even thought it could be the gas. The symptoms first appeared when they started to add ethanol to the gas so I've made a couple of trips out of county for the good stuff but the problem is still there.
