I understand completely I really do, but I think if you were to put 7 grand into your current motor, you'd probably be just as happy.

naw because it still wouldnt be bulletproof and I'm a fan of muscle cars with muscle even with 7g's in a 2v your power over the rpm band will be weak. A dog's a dog IMO

ORIGINAL: 03sonicgt

Just curious, why don't you guys just spend the money on your current motor?? Built bottom end and lots of boost?? Why do an engine swap?? I understand the 4v is a MUCH better platform, but explain why you want to do a motor swap??
I want to swap motors because I want an aluminum block, I want to turn my car into a competative road racer. Any weight I take off the front I need it. So saving 80lbs by switching to an aluminum block is a good amount of weight.

I bought a motor!!! I am picking it up next saturday. I forgot to take pictures but its all dirty and still in the car anyway. But its a 4.6 DOHC out of a 94 Lincoln Mark 8 it has 131k miles on it. I bought it with the engine wiring harness and computer. For $535 after taxes. I know what your all thinking thats alot of miles, but I am going to have the block machined and put a forged rotating assembly in it. Im so excited. This motor is going to be so badass! I will post pictures next saturday.
