Default Locked wheels

I need to remove the locks from my wheels, but don't have the key. I just got my new tires and realized that I don't have the key. I just left the local Ford dealership and the two biggest tire shops in the area, and none were of any help. Does anyone have any ideas? Please?? [:@] [:@]

That happened to me not too long ago. I went to the tire store and they had some reverse threaded impact sockets that they used to get mine off. I would check around to some other stores and see if they have something like that. If not you might be able to buy the socket at an auto parts store and just take that to the tire store with you. Thats why I dont buy those locking lug nuts anymore. I just cant seem to keep track of that key [:@]

I definitely won't replace them when I do get them off...the ones on there are from the factory.

Oh, one other thing you might try. If you have an old beat up socket that you dont care about breaking you might try beating that onto the locks with a hammer. Just find one thats around the same size as the lock. Ive done that to some stripped lugs before but never on one of the locks though. Problem with that is that you usually have to have one socket for every lug because you cant get the lug out of it when you're done.

Where is the key kept from the factory? Is it hidden?

Yup, thats them. I just read in the owners manual that dealerships are SUPPOSED to have master keys...I'm gonna hit Ford dealerships tomorrow until I find one that does have them. I only went to one today...hopefully more luck tomorrow.

People usually have them under their space tire. I hate to tell ya but I am pretty sure there is not a master key. I asked the same question and was laughed at. You can get the vin number and the dealer can look up the key code I believe. There is a company out of NY that can cut you a new key.
