Default what rims would i need...

ok this may be hard to explain but most of you guys should understand what i mean.

i want to get new rims. and with my current ones, i dont like how the wheels are tucked into the wheel well. i wanted to get rims that the side of the wheel would be flush with the side of the car. i just think it would look better. what size rims would do that? 10" wide? 10.5?

mind you this is for the rear wheels. is it up to how wide the rims are? or up the the offset.

17x10.5 will do it perfectly. I know what you mean. I hated so much how my stock tires tucked it. It made it look like crap. I wanted my wheels to fit just to the edge of my fender. I have seen 18x10's on mustangs and they still tuck in about 1/2-3/4" that would bother me... Mine are perfect! Remember you have to get the right tires with them too, because if I got 275/40/R17's on the back my wheels would still look like there tucked in a bit. Just get 315's in the back.

Out of curiousity where are you stationed? I am at Pope AFB, NC

I have 275/40/17's on my 99GT,, they are VERY close to flush,,

but yea, like you siad, it'd be nice if they were flush, or just a tiny bit outside of..

you ought to check out codes' thick meats,, i mean wide meats thread, lots of tire shots in there

so the tires have a big role with this? im just not sure if its how wide the rims are, the offset of the rims, or the tires.
