7 cylinders? HELP

RE: 7 cylinders? HELP
That a compression tester. You take a spark plug out and crank the motor. Do this to each cylinder and you should have a basline of what the pressure should be. If you have very low in one of them then you have a problem with the psiton rings, or head gasket or vavles. If the pressure is all good, then its your fuel or ignition. You can try fuel injector cleaner, or take them and get the flow tested. As for the ignition check yoru spark plugs or mabye you have to replace a coil pack or something.. Just some things to try. How do you know your only running on 7 cylinders?

Narrow down the search first.Try removing plug wires to figure out which cylinder is missing. When you figure out which cylinder it is use a long screwdriver or wooden dowel to listen to the injector. If the injector sounds different than the other injectors you have probably found the culprit. If this is inconclusive you can move the suspect injector to another cylinder and see if the miss folows. If it does, replace the injector.
You can check the plug in that cylinder and look for damage or fouling. If the plug is fouled by oil you might start looking for the reason why.It could be a bad valve seal (better) or a broken ring tearing up a cylinder wall(worst).
Whatever you do,do it quick. If the plug isn't firing the unburned fuel can cause the oil film to be diluted and washed off the cylinder wall, adding to the cost of the eventual repair.
