So if I wanted a deeper, throatier muscley, sound I'd want to go with an H pipe instead of an X?

h pipes are good for low end torque, but after 3000 rpm, gas flow makes them much less effective. The X pipe is good for power up top where the 4.6 shines and it always works. The H is a little deeper in tone than the X.

Regardless of my vid, it's much deeper in real life. You can go either way, but go with a catted unit unless you want rasp.

I have a MAC o/r H pipe and flowmaster 40's. It is a little loud without cats, but it sounds awesome.

flowmasters have that thing that is called DROOOONNEEE. does it **** you guys off as bad as me? i had flows welded into my stock catback a long time ago and it was soo annoying. if you want somthing with a nice tone and that isnt too loud get bassani. that has to be the cleanest exhaust note ive ever heard.

Do NOT get Flowmaster American Thunder with an offroad mid pipe.

Yeah ive heard it, i hear it almost every day. I didnt tell him not to get it b/c it doesnt sound good, i told him not to get it b/c he doesnt want something with a loud interior sound. I personally think my car sounds like an absolute beast, but when cruising on the highway the exhaust roars. Between 1800-2000rpm there is a very loud interior sound and it just gets annoying.
