Default Painting calipers

I plan on painting my calipers red this week and was wondering if you painted the caliper and cage or just the caliper? Id love to see some of pictures!

Paint just the actual calipers, not the bracket. Its how the factory does it, looks better, and less work involved.

Prep, primer, then paint.....

From the factory just the caliper is painted, not the little bracket.

The factory painted Cobra and Bullitt calipers are actually powder coated, not painted. Prep the surface right, but I wouldn't use a primer. Most, if not all, primers will not hold up to the heat generated from the brakes. If you apply a high-temp paint over low temp primer, the high temp will still bubble, peel and flake off. Just use a good high temp paint like RustOleum high temperature or equivalent. I think it is good for up to 800 deg.

I was kind of debating the same thing. I did a quick PS of my car, the 2nd one is how the 10th anniversary Cobra calipers were paitned, and I think thats how I'm going to do mine because it looks more even. Either way I'm not doin the holder in the front, IMO that is too much... I also suggest Caliper Paint by VHT.
