I've only crossed one with my '03, but it was still good for me (speed limit was 55...went to 60ish). My '71 likes to eat their breakfast, nail the wife, and saunter out the door while they stand there.

I think ive beaten just as many as ive lost to now... most of the LS1s I see are stock - I have only raced one or two modded ones that i can think of... one modded one just absolutly WAXED me.. lol, the other one I pretty much hung with (LS1 SS)

My old 85 L98 vette (stock) would pull very far away from most all non cobra stangs.I cant imagine a stock mustang even keeping up with a ls-1,I owned a 98 z for a while and it ripped.from what I have heard the gto in a straight line is killer.beware of the turbo buicks they will spank you,feller here in town has a grand national that has been tweeked and it goes real good.My lowered 99gt is one of the best handling and most fun cars I ever owned and I am a chevy person from way back.Would like to drive a new gt500 and then a zo6. Dealer here in town has a gt40 on the floor cool car way expensive and wierd color of yellow(my own pref).All in all the LS is probably the winner in stock box form.................................Gary99gt

It was at the track, and I had him for a little while off the line (he spun more than I did, track was crap), but then it was over. He ended up beating me by 0.3612 seconds. Oh well.

The only shot a 2v stock mustang has against a LS1 is if the driver tries to race in reverse... or if you loosen the bolts on the tires so after first gear the wheels fall off
