Guys, i've got some more newbie questions. My 98GT has a Dioblo chip, Borla exhaust with no cats and a K&N filter with 3:55 gears, ok. Performance is amazing to me with a top speed of 160mph. The thing that amazes me most is i'm getting 28mpg on the highway while running 80 - 100mph. If i change to the PI heads with bigger cams, PI or Bullit intake and BBK/LT's how bad is this going to affect my mileage? I'd like to see how well it will really run but i'm LOVEING this milelage and don't know what to do!! How much will these mods change my mpg?? Thanks

If you did a PI swap without cams you might gain even more gas mileage.

Unfortunetly, that amazing performance you feel is nothing compared to a modded 99+ GT! Do the PI swap and enjoy alittle better mileage! Bullit intake isn't worth it, waste of money. Long tube headers will also increase gas mileage.

Will i need to use 91 octane with the PI heads? I was thinking about useing the Comp Cams XE274 cams, what do think?

Nope... you can run normal gas and wont need to upgrade octane until you adjust the timing which is a very good upgrade in my opinion.

If you're so happy with your gas mileage then I'd say definetely get the PI with bigger Cam lobes, it'll hurt gas mileage a bit but I'm sure YOU won't mind.

I can get 300+ miles out of a full tank with 4.10 gears.
