Mostly the same stuff. Go with a JLT intake those are nice and not metal so they do well with heat. I wouldve got one but the only reason I have a MAC is that it came on the car. Otherwise I'd go with a JLT.
I would definitely recommend JLT. As far as CAI vs. RAI, fenderwell versions are a bit harder to install and occasionally can create tuning issues due to the bend. But I still prefer them overall. You're always better drawing in cooler air. Cleaner look, too. I like that you can have these painted to match your exterior. Complete with flames if you so choose.

I was looking at JLT. Heard it was pretty good. But final question would be ram air or cold air? They seem to offer same amount of hp but just price difference?
I've got the rai system... As long as you keep the heat shield on it, then you'll be just fine.

What problems?? You can have "problems" with a cai system as well.

Ive been thinking about buying a cai and was checking the pics at mustangtuning.com....

Does the radius/circumference size of the tubing matter for performance/hp increase as I noticed that JLT's http://www.mustangtuning.com/jlt-96-04-gt-cai.html tubing is much bigger (more air coming in at one time) as opposed to steeda/bbk/mac pipes that look much smaller?

also, I implemented this excellent mod https://mustangforums.com/m_1135032/tm.htm but with a variation... Instead of removing the air silencer, I hacked off the end where it narrows so more air comes in quicker and there's no free gap near the inner fender when re-bolting the air box back in. mI thinking this approach would offset the need to install a cai?

thanks,

techsent
