My car(2001Gt) is running like shi#.My check engine light came on so i took it to autozone for a free diognostic and the computer said it was my o2sensor .Well i changed it and the light so far has stayed off.But now i noticed this bad knock & ping when i get on it .What could cause this?.I tried better grade gas.And even some injector cleaner.Can changing the plugs help ?The car has 13,000 miles on it and still has the original plugs.What else can it be??

drive it nice and easy for awhile. did you disco the batt before changing the o2? if not i would do so, maybe still do it, and drive it nice and easy for at least 20-30 miles, if not 100. then see if the problem persists.

i would not recommend putting in a diff grade of gas then what it is tuned for, unless it solves the pinging problem. i think the possible culprit is you putting in a new o2, and just beating on the car. with any mods and changes, you gotta let the car re-learn itself fuel map, ect...

new fuel filter wouldnt hurt, nor would runnin some seafoam through it.

if you only take the car out to beat on it a lil bit, then let her sit forever, thats not good. just a fyi. not sayin thats the case.

I drive the car pretty normal.I dont baby it and i dont beat it.It does sit from time to time, but when i take it out for a run its only for a short drive..

If it only has 13K & is still under 3 yrs then take it into the dealer.
