Default Shorty headers or mid pipe?

I am not sure If i should get shorty headers or a mid pipe first. I really want LT's but due to government scam called E-Check I cant. Wich would I get more sound out of? A aftermarket mid pipe or Shorty headers. Wich brand do you reccomend?

go with an SLP x-pipe and save up for long tubes. Make sure you get a midpipe with a 2(3?) piece design so that when you purchase long tubes you dont need a new mid pipe.

I'd say go with the mid-pipe. The stock manifolds on mustangs are very good. I've read that they are good to 600 hp...but do your own research on that claim.

You probably won't gain much at all with adding shorty headers. Look at it this way: If the shorties are CARB legal, then they won't have much of an affect on your exhaust flow if they won't have an affect on your emmissions. (Again, do your own research on that claim. I haven't.)

And try the X with chambered mufflers. I bet they sound killer! (IE bassani X with bassani chambered are freakin' awesome. Don't fear the X-chambered combo)

naw...shorties should give ya like 5-8hp

an x-pipe really dous improve the acoustic signature of a v8....go with the X as shorties are a nightmare to instal.
