Default fuel filter replacement

Hi, i have never changed a fuel filter, it looks pretty basic but i was wondering "technically" how to do it. Do you guys happen to know where find the fuel shut off switch so i dont get soaked with gas. Also any other bit of information i would need to know that you guys would like to share with me.

it's on the left hand side of the trunk behind a panel, just unplug it and run the car for a few seconds. you might also need one of those fuel line disconnect tools

I don't even bother using the fuel shutoff switch, just make sure you expect gas to spill and have a rag handy, it's not like you will have a gallon coming out. you didn't specify the car, so it's hard to say what you will need to remove the filter. either a small screwdriver or the fuel filter tool. easy job.

the fuel shut off button is in your trunk on the left side behind a panel and the fuel filter is under the car by the fuel tank. Its a pretty simple installation, just make sure you have the little remover tools for the fuel filter. Im sure if u go to your local autoparts store they will have it there and im not sure how much they cost.

what year of 4.6 is it? 99 and up require a special fuel line disconnect tool. Cheap to buy but you will need it. Pre 99 only have a couple of u-clips that can be removed with pliers.

Just remember to keep open flames away from gas....

it's almost like free aftershave. you'll never smell more manly than when you smell like gasoline. [8D]

a decent rag or an old tshirt will catch it all, and then you can burn it in a trashcan or clean something with it.

i didnt shut off any gas or nothing, that stuff is for whimps, just have plenty of bactine ready if things get outta hand. open your gas cap to release the pressure. I had a towel ready, only ounce or two went to the repair gods. The disconnect tool was like 5 bucks at AutoZone. it is literally a 5 minute job.......that took me 2 hours cause i didnt know i needed that f'n tool [:@]
