So guys ive started to build up my dream engine and am hard at work. Tell me what you think. 5.1 stroker kit with forged alluminum block, rods, crank, and pistons. Patriot stage three heads, custom ground comp cam, kenne bell blowzilla 2.2L supercharger, snow performance methonal kit. Damn thing is going to cost more than the car in the end but i think the pay off should be nice. I should be done in 2 years haha so check back with me then.
Well if this is a dream engine lets dream alittle bigger...screw the stroker kit (proven not to add hp on modulars) and get a Big Bore...and screw the Patriots heads! You don't need the headaches associated with them!!! Get some Modular Powerhouse or VT Engines p&p'd heads...the set up you want is very similar to a guy on stangnet. he has a SHM built shortblock with Crower cams and 1.7 kb...he is making 500rwhp on a safe tune.

Sounds kinda like a dream of mine. I have done a rough price for my dream which is almost the same as yours except i will be using billit internals and it is going to run around $20,000 for just engine, KB 2.2, race preped T56 and rear end.

The one good thing about this whole war is that it is paying for all of this so at the end of the next deployment my dream will come true.

What exactly is a stroker motor? I've seen discussions about it on here several times and I don't know what it is.

A stroker motor is the same block with a different crank and rods the increases the length of the stroke. Really it doesnt do much for the 4.6l because it already has alot of stroke. If you increase the bore size will give you a much better increase. If you combine the 2 you will have good gains but cost alot.

The stroker kit im looking at does both. They say the only time you really see gains is if you have high flow heads and a blower. A BIG blower.

Does both? you mean bigger pistons? You will have to get the block machined for that and that is the part that cost $$$.

True about the heads and blower but that is obvious. The more air you can cram into th compression chamber = more fuel you can spit in there = bigger boom.
