I can also give you a link for a remanufactured '99 spec 4.6. I would go with one of the shortblocks from dagostino though if you are looking to be that fast.

4v FTW
I would go with a forged short block. A stock 4.6 can take 400 with a good tune, but you know once you get a taste you're guna want more. Cheaper to do it while you need the engine anyway.

+1 If ur wanting to get somethin new, it would be easier to get that power out of a 4V rather than a 2V. Or u could always go old school and put a 347 or 351 crate motor in there.

im in the same position as you, i think im just gonna buy a low miles PI 2V 4.6 and slap on a vortech and call it at day, with the upgraded 42# injectors your ptolly looking at mid to high 300 rwhp. so with some good suspension work you could be close to your goal

Basically, a junk 1996 motor in a high mileage 1996 Mustang and you want 350-400hp?
Save yourself a lot of time, energy and head aches, (not to mention $ in the long run), and get a PI GT. Add FI and you're where you want to be.
