I have a 96 GT and this little pipes kepps falling on my car, as far as i can tell it hasnt affected the premoance but im just curious what its for can anyone tell. It keeps slippling out of the boot on the drivers side. Can anyone tell?
it's not a line for the power steering, it is just a boot that covers the ends to keep crap out of there. It's no big deal. If it comes off, just stick it back on.
It is what allows air and some fluid to move back and forth between the two sides. Leave it off and you will notice a power steering fluid leak eventually.
These are the boots for your power steering rack and pinion. It covers the rack when the car is turning, make sure you fasten them or replace them because the dirt that builds up will cause the seals to rip and leak or cause noise from the rack. [sm=badbadbad.gif]
